There have been reports of a new scam where a person receives a text saying they need to book a vaccination appointment and it takes them to a fake NHS form which then asks for their bank details to prove their identity. The NHS will never ask for a person’s banking information so please do not provide as it will be a scam.

Thank you for your initial helpful comments and feedback. Following our recent PCC discussion I have asked a sub group of the PCC to do some research and appraisal. It is obviously not possible to collect copies from our churches during lockdown, nor are we able to post a large number. The next edition will also be online. I am hoping that we can produce a few copies in the Benefice Office, though with Administrator Elizabeth having to work from home at present, even this is not straightforward. FJ

The Church wardens and PCC are pleased to confirm that the Abbey Church has made a donation of £500 towards the Churches Together in Unity Covid response fund and £500 to the Women’s Refuge (Hythe). During the year ahead we shall be supporting CBM UK, the Overseas Disability Charity, which works towards building inclusive communities, saving sight, strengthening health systems and improving access to education and employment opportunities. If you would like a prayer diary from CBM UK please contact Jane.

Locally we shall be supporting Solent Mind, our local mental health charity which supports a variety of trusted mental health projects in our area and seeks to provide practical support that empowers people to move forward in life. Both charities have new services in place in response to the Covid pandemic.
