FOURTH SUNDAY AFTER TRINITY

It is easy for us to think that the parable of the sower is obvious. It clearly wasn’t to the disciples who needed it explained. The clever technique and radical nature of these meaningful stories of Jesus is lost through familiarity. God as sower suggests that there are various possibilities of result for the sown seed.: an automatic standard response prescribed by dry religion will not yield fruit. The rain falls on good as well as bad soil, but with different results. Make sure your soil is good, says Jesus.
