LENT COURSE 2019  WHY DID JESUS DIE?

2.00pm - 3.00pm on Thursday 4th April, in the Rectory. This last session will include a talk, a Q&A, and discussion, a short time of meditation and quiet.

WATERSIDE FOODBANK

St Paul’s will be making their Lent Collection for the Waterside Foodbank next Sunday 7th April. The Foodbank would be most grateful for carrier bags in the ‘bag for life’ style. Please place the bags and any food items in the Foodbank basket near to the organ in the Abbey Church.

THE OPENING OF ST KATHARINE’S CHURCH, EXBURY

The Churchwardens and I have agreed that the church will be open during the day to visitors on Tuesdays and Thursdays until further notice FJ

TWO BENEFICE OUTINGS

Tuesday 25th June will be an afternoon visit to St Cross Hospital in Winchester with The Master of St Cross,Revd Reg Sweet, known to many in our Benefice. The afternoon will include a guided tour of the hospital by one of the Brothers, afternoon tea and Evensong in the beautiful chapel. If you are interested please give your name to John or Kathy Hughes 02380 207433. Full details of cost and pick uptimes nearer the time. For the 2nd Benefice Trip we are hoping to return to Chichester on 17th September... details to follow.

WATERSIDE HOMELESS PROJECT

The original idea of offering overnight accommodation at a number of church halls in the Waterside area did not succeed because of an apparent lack of demand. An organisation “The Crossings” has subsequently been set up; it is a drop-in centre on Wednesday & Saturday mornings (9.30am – 1.30pm) within St John’s Church, Hythe – adjacent to the new Lidl supermarket. It will cater for clients who are homeless or need help getting their life back on track. The new co-ordinator is Sarah Helliwell, www.thecrossings.co.uk Several of our Beaulieu Benefice Parishioners are volunteers. Further info from Oliver Stanley.
