WATERSIDE HOMELESS PROJECT

The original idea of offering overnight accommodation at a number of church halls in the Waterside area did not succeed because of an apparent lack of demand. An organisation “The Crossings” has subsequently been set up; it is a drop-in centre on Wednesday & Saturday mornings (9.30am – 1.30pm) within St John’s Church, Hythe – adjacent to the new Lidl supermarket. It will cater for clients who are homeless or need help getting their life back on track. The new co-ordinator is Sarah Helliwell, www.thecrossings.co.uk Several of our Beaulieu Benefice Parishioners are volunteers. Further info from Oliver Stanley.
