ST KATHARINE’S  CHRISTMAS  FAYRE.  Thank you for supporting our Christmas Fayre. Despite indications that the approach road was closed, folk found their way to St Katharine’s and were not disappointed! It proved a very happy and worthwhile occasion. Thank you to those who organised it, ran stalls, cooked and provided refreshments, cleared and tidied away at the end. And thank you for supporting on the day. I am delighted to say we raised £1500. MEN’S BREAKFAST The next one will be: Saturday 7th December 8.30am at the Turfcutters’ Arms.

ADVENT FOODBANK COLLECTION. Please bring any food items for the Advent Foodbank collection to the 11.15am service at St Paul’s, East Boldre, on Sunday 15th December. For more details please contact Graham Sterling 01590 612378.  Every day people in the UK go hungry for reasons ranging from redundancy to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income. A simple box of food makes a big difference. Food is donated, is sorted and stored by the volunteers, professionals identify people in need, and the clients receive the food. The Foodbank is short of the following items: powdered milk, sugar, tinned cold meats, sponge puddings, tinned fruit, 500ml long life milk, 100g coffee, toilet rolls, tinned vegetables, tinned soup.

THE CROSSINGS LINKED WITH ST JOHN’S CHURCH, HYTHE.  A charity initiated by churches in the New Forest. Providing support to those who are homeless (including those in temporary accommodation) or at risk of being made homeless or otherwise vulnerable or marginalised. This is done by means of a drop-in centre which provides: access to WiFi and use of a laptop on the premises, opportunity to charge mobile phones, support to engage with statutory and other voluntary services in order to secure accommodation, an opportunity to talk about their concerns in a confidential and accepting environment, refreshments including a simple meal and facilities to wash.

ADVENT PREPARATION. These will be held on Thursdays 5th, 12th, 19th December, between 2pm – 3pm at the Rectory.  During Advent we will be exploring worship in different ways. The Revd Lynda Mead will lead us.  Session 1 - A Prayer Walk - using the rooms of the Rectory - no umbrellas or stout walking shoes necessary!   Session 2 - The Advent Journey.   Session 3 - A Silent Communion Service.   You are welcome to join us for any or all of these sessions.
