RUNNING TO RAISE FUNDS. Margaret and Sydney Jackson's daughter, Sally Hutton, has been training hard and is preparing for the Great North Run on 8th September. Looking forward to the prospect of the demanding 13.1 mile event, Sally confesses it "seems very daunting", and asks us to think of her and Margaret on the day. As well as a personal goal, Sally is doing it to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society, conscious of the invaluable support and advice she and her family have received over the years. You can support her by going to the following link: or send a cheque to me made payable to Alzheimer’s Society.   FJ

ALRESFORD CHOIR CONCERT   Saturday 28thSeptember 7.30pm in Beaulieu Abbey Church, doors open 6.45pm. Alresford Choir, 90  singers present “From an Autumn Songbook” with guest soloists Amy Williamson and Chris Pott.  An impressive programme of music from Rachmaninov, Bortnianski and Fauré, folk songs and spirituals arranged by John Rutter to songs from West Side Story by Bernstein and some Abba. ADVANCED NOTICE   Sunday 29th September, 10am at St Paul’s, East Boldre. Combined Benefice Service of Holy Communion on the day of St Michael and All Angels.

HARVEST SERVICES AROUND THE BENEFICE. Sun 15th September, 11.15am St Paul’s, East Boldre, followed by lunch at 1pm. During this Harvest Festival service there will be a collection of food items for the Honeypot charity and the Foodbank. Please contact Dr Graham Sterling 01590 612378 with any delivery/collection of items. Sun 22nd September, 11.15am St Katharine’s, Exbury. Sun 6th October, 9.30am Abbey Church. All are welcome at any of the Services.

RECTOR’S LUNCH  Sunday 29th September, Abbey Church Hall, 12.30 for 1pm. Tickets £6.00. Menu: Fillet of lamb casserole with vegetables, lemon posset and shortbread. Tickets from Margaret Marshall, 02380 892469, after the 9.30am service or from the office on Thursday mornings.

HARVEST SUPPER. The annual Harvest Supper will be on Monday 7th October, in the Domus, 7.00 for 7.30pm. Harvest Pie and Apple Crumble followed by cheese and biscuits and coffee. Tickets £16, from Margaret Marshall. There will be, as usual, tables of 10. Cheques for either or both meals please make payable to Beaulieu Church Social Committee

JANE BARNICOAT-CHONGWE’S LICENSING SERVICE Owing  to Jane’s imminent surgery, and recuperation, this service may not take place as planned. Please remove the date from your diary. Further details to follow. We continue to hold Jane and Rueben in our thoughts and prayers.  FJ

MR PETER ANDREW RAWLINGS.:  It is with sadness that we record the death of Andrew. A much loved and respected member of the community, he was a member of our chorale choir. He will be much missed and we hold Prue and their family in our prayers as they prepare for his funeral service. A Service of Thanksgiving is expected to take place later in the year.   FJ
