RUNNING TO RAISE FUNDS. Margaret and Sydney Jackson's daughter, Sally Hutton, has been training hard and is preparing for the Great North Run on 8th September. Looking forward to the prospect of the demanding 13.1 mile event, Sally confesses it "seems very daunting", and asks us to think of her and Margaret on the day. As well as a personal goal, Sally is doing it to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society, conscious of the invaluable support and advice she and her family have received over the years. It is possible to support her by going to the following link: or send a cheque to me made payable to Alzheimer’s Society.   FJ

ABBEY CHURCH .... POST 9.30am SERVICE REFRESHMENTS. These are now very well attended and offer us the opportunity to chat and catch up. I am most grateful to those individuals who prepare the drinks and biscuits. There are a few vacancies on the rota. Please speak to Liz Wigfield if you would like to help. Many thanks from an appreciative Father John.

PARKING AT THE ABBEY CHURCH Please may I ask you to observe some general principles. During Service times, please continue to park on the Church Meadow, cars facing the church.  There are clearly allocated spaces for disabled parking – please observe these signs.  Outside Service times, if you are wanting to access the Church, please park in the lower gravelled car park and walk up, however, if you are less mobile, and space permits, please use the Hall car park. Thank you for your co-operation.  F John

CAR SHARING. Please do continue to consider (if happy to do so) offering each-other a lift to Church Services and events, as this reduces the number of vehicles on our roads, and provides an opportunity to get to know each other better. Offering this ‘gift’ to those who are not able to drive for whatever reason is really appreciated.
