THE OPENING OF ST KATHARINE’S CHURCH, EXBURY The church will be open during the day to visitors on Tuesdays and Thursdays until further notice.  FJ

MUSIC AT BEAULIEU   SATURDAY 18th MAY.  Conchord Ensemble – Bassoon, flute and oboe. A chamber ensemble of internationally recognised soloists. Music by Bach, Ginastera, Beethoven, Benjamin Britten, Villa Lobos and Mozart. Tickets are £15 and can be booked online at, or by post to PO Box 84 Lymington SO41 3ZA with a cheque payable to Music at Beaulieu and a SAE.

TWO BENEFICE OUTINGS. Benefice Visit to St Cross, Winchester - Tuesday 25th June: Our coach will leave the Abbey Meadow at 13.30. Once at St Cross, we will have a guided tour of the Hospital by the Brothers. This will be followed by afternoon tea ... a slice of homemade cake and tea (or coffee). At 16.30 we will end our visit with evensong in the lovely Norman chapel returning to Beaulieu by about 18.30. There are seats still available; the cost (which includes the coach fare, entry into St Cross and afternoon tea) will be £22.00. Cheques are payable to Beaulieu Abbey Church. If you would like to join us please let John or Kathy Hughes know 02380 207433 or through the Parish Office.   For the 2nd Benefice Trip we are hoping to return to Chichester on 17th September... details to follow.

D-DAY 75TH ANNIVERSARY With the upcoming 75th anniversary of D-Day approaching, there will be an official service of remembrance held at St Katharine’s Church, Exbury on Thursday 6th June, at 11.00am. Father John will conduct the service and has invited the Reverend Reg Sweet, Master of the Hospital of St Cross, Winchester, to join him in this commemoration. Everyone is invited to attend the service, after which will proceed to the Exbury Gardens car park where a wreath will be laid at the Anchor Memorial adjacent to the car park. All are welcome at this service. A small exhibition of memorabilia will be set out in the Azalea Room of Mr Eddy’s Restaurant. A ploughman’s lunch will be available at £9.50, but this must be booked previously via Marion Loveland before Monday 20th May. Please contact Marion on 02380 846309 to book the lunch.

RECTOR’S LUNCH. This will be held on Sunday 9th June, in the Abbey Church Hall, 12.30pm for 1.00pm. Tickets £6 from Margaret Marshall. More details to come.
