As a thank you to all the ladies who arrange flowers at Beaulieu, Bucklers Hard, East Boldre & Exbury we are inviting you to a FREE demonstration in the Abbey Church Hall on Monday 19th November at 9.30am PROMPT. Following his recent interview with myself and our churchwardens, I am delighted to announce that Mr Philip Baxter BA LGSM ACertCM MBIM has accepted my invitation to be our Director of Music. Philip comes with a great deal of experience. He has a degree in music, and is a Licentiate of the Guildhall School of Music in organ teaching. He is an accredited Royal School of Church Music course director, and holds the Archbishop's qualification in Church Music, in choir training. He also holds qualifications in management.
Most recently, he was Director of Music at Clare in Suffolk. Formerly, he was Diocesan Deputy Director of Education for Salisbury, a voluntary organist for the cathedral, and Vicar Choral for the Precentor. He is, as Visiting Scholar at Sarum College, lecturing on the “Sarum Use”; and has almost completed his second publication, “Sarum Chant – Plainsong of the English Church”. Philip may be in post before the end of the year. We have been incredibly fortunate that Robin Phillips has been at the helm since Peter's departure, taking choir practices, as well as giving his distinctive strong bass lead from the choir stalls. We are most grateful to him for graciously filling the gap!  Please remember Philip in your prayers as he prepares to take up this important post at the Abbey Church; and the choir, as we look with confidence to the future. Fr John

Please remember in your prayers: Veronica & David House, Ruth Willrich, Ann & Bruce Wallace, Paul Humphries, Philip Cooper, Dorothy Alston, Charlotte Hammond, John Walker, Valerie Wright, Leonard Taylor, Joyce Creamer, David Knight, Beverly Hose, Tom M, Sydney & Margaret Jackson, Marigold Jordan, Anna, Pat, Denise Abell-Parker, and Jean Aartsen. Please help us to keep this up to date.
We respect the circumstances of the above named and leave it to them to disclose any personal details. FJ

We pray for those who have died: Anita Marr, Jane Bowdler

If you are a newly arrived member of our congregation , we would encourage you to join our Electoral Roll. Forms are at the back of the church.     PM
