Taize Chants during communion:

----------------------------------------------

Eat this bread, drink this cup, come to him and never be hungry.

Eat this bread, drink this cup, trust in him and you will not thirst.

----------------------------------------------

In the Lord I’ll be ever thankful, in the Lord I will rejoice!

Look to God, do not be afraid. Lift up your voices, the Lord is near. Lift up your voices, the Lord is near.

The Gloria:  We are singing a setting composed by our organist Andrew Elliott.

 Please Park Prettily

Would all churchgoers please park ONLY in Church Meadow (not in the road to Palace House) and also ensure that they leave access to some of the disabled spots in the Meadow close to the Church, for those with        limited mobility. The very few spaces in the car park  close to the Church Hall are normally reserved for clergy, and for blue badge holders. Thank you for your understanding.   FJ/PM

DIRECTOR OF MUSIC

As you know, Peter Hackston will be relinquishing the post he has held for ten years. We are immensely grateful for the commitment and dedication he has brought to the task over these many years. There will be an opportunity to thank Peter publicly on Sunday 2nd September, his last Sunday in post. The Churchwardens are arranging a collection. Gifts may be directed to Sally Brearley or Peter Melhuish.   Fr John

 Family Picnic

Following the dramatic change in weather on the weekend of the   29th July, postponement looked the sensible option, however we kept faith and decided to go ahead with the event, albeit in the Abbey Hall and not my garden. Our resilience was rewarded with a successful and enjoyable afternoon. Thank you to Jane Noble, Flavia, Jenny & Miranda for their efforts and enthusiasm. We are planning more family events - the next probably near 5th November.                               FJ
