Thank you to everybody who baked, prepared and served, to the organisations and groups who provided inspiring displays, to those who stewarded and welcomed visitors; to Peter, Andrew and the choir for providing a fitting conclusion to the Festival by way of Choral Evensong. Pictures have been posted on the Benefice website. Following expenses, £2,676 was raised for church funds. Well done, one and all!   FJ

Thanks for all your hard work

Annie Melhuish wishes to thank most sincerely all those members of the catering team at the recent Flower Festival.  These include those who provided food, who served food and who helped out in the kitchen and the hall.  A GREAT team effort!!!


Thank you for those who decorated St Paul's so beautifully for the Harvest Thanksgiving, and to those who brought harvest gifts for distribution to the Food Bank & Honeypot. 

Thanks to Sylvia for providing a delicious lunch after the service, and to Graham for generously gifting the drink. FJ

Beaulieu: Sunday 8th October 9.30am We shall be supporting the Waterside Food bank and donations to Mary’s Meals, providing nutritious meals to vulnerable children in the world. It costs £13.90 to feed a child for a whole school year! See Benefice Website or  

The Foodbank would like: tinned fruit, UHT milk, 500ml, powdered milk, tinned potatoes, sponge puddings, long-life fruit juice, sugar, biscuits, coffee, rice pudding.

Harvest Supper in the Domus, £16.50  Mon. 9th Oct at 7 for 7.30pm. Tickets from Margaret Marshall via the church office on Thursday, or post a cheque, made to Beaulieu Church Social Committee, to the church, Palace Lane, Beaulieu SO42 7YG

Due  to circumstances beyond anyone’s control, the choir due to perform in Exbury Church on October 7th are unable to do so, and so the concert has been cancelled.

We shall be having a Confirmation Service in the Abbey Church on Sunday 14 January at 10.00am. It will be the only morning service in the benefice. At its simplest, Confirmation means making your own, and declaring from your own mouth, the promises made on your behalf at baptism. If you would like to know more about what confirmation entails, or be added to the list of candidates, please speak to me. An initial meeting of anyone interested is to be at the Rectory 10am on 30 Sept. FJ

ISLE OF WIGHT TRIP        September 26rd 2017
Just days away....The Benefice Outing to the Isle of Wight will leave the Abbey Meadow PROMPTLY at 0900 on Tuesday morning. I am most grateful to those of you who spend time welcoming visitors This has proved valuable and is much appreciated. Reading the Visitors’ Book, it is quite clear how much the opportunity to explore, pray and sit quietly is valued. Waterside Night Shelter
A small group met with Jan Hayter, one of the organisers of the Waterside Night Shelter. This is a Waterside Churches Together Project and is due to open on 1st December. The shelter will be based in a number of the Waterside Churches and will provide up to 6 beds for the homeless throughout the winter. The Project Team need volunteers to help in a number of different ways.   Interested ??  Please talk to Father John.  Fuller details on the BAC website.

Saturday 2nd December "ADVENT PROCESSION" - this year we shall be making a trip to Winchester Cathedral for this service of readings and music for the season of Advent. We shall be arranging a benefice coach. The service starts at 6.30pm. NB There will be no Advent Sunday carol service in the benefice. In darkness and light, and sung by the cathedral choir a service not to be missed. Further details to follow. FJ
