Minutes of the PCC Meetings
Summary of Beaulieu PCC meeting 23rd August 2017
In addition to usual committee matters the following were discussed:
Church website now managed by Peter Melhuish and Lindy Shanks. Thanks to Frederick Norris and Nigel Betteridge for all their work. Articles and photographs needed regularly from everyone to make this interesting relevant.
The new bookstall for the Abbey Church is expected to be delivered shortly, allowing an improved display area for books and gifts.
PCC to proactively support charities chosen for this year; more information to be placed on the website and in the church for both Mary`s Meals (marysmeals.org.uk) and the Society of St James (homelesshostel,ssj.org.uk). Collections at Harvest will be for Mary`s Meals, dried/tinned goods for the Food Bank, fresh produce for Honeypot. Collections during Advent and Christmas will be divided between the two charities. Enquiries to be made as to goods required by St James` that we may collect for them during the year.
Charles Sykes Triptych returned to the Abbey Church, to be photographed then to be displayed to the public before being stored safely. More details to follow.
Administrative assistant to be recruited for the Benefice Office, post to be advertised shortly.
New green altar frontal to be ordered, to replace the Rose frontal currently used.
General repairs to the building fabric continue, with bee colonies removed safely. Accessibility continues to be assessed, given the age of the Abbey Church and as a listed building.
Social events and outings support our mission and are advertised separately.
