Summary of Beaulieu PCC Meeting held 3rd November 2014

In addition to usual committee matters the following were discussed:

The Parish Profile is nearing completion, being compiled jointly as a Benefice document, thanks to Frederick Norris for the time taken in drafting this.

Section 11 meeting with the Archdeacon for discussion regarding requirements for new incumbent to take place 4th December.

The Mission Action Plan, on which the Parish Profile is based, is to be put in place in December. Meeting at the end of November to be attended by churchwardens and Deanery Synod representatives.

The PCC agreed unanimously for an advertisement to be placed for either a male or female priest, being required to vote on this prior to the advertisement being placed.

A fund is to be opened to raise monies for restoration work on the organ. Thanks go to Music at Beaulieu who pay for the organ to be tuned.

Discussion regarding Outreach included overseas projects, links with Beaulieu school and its twinning project.

Collections from all Christmas services:  Advent Candle service, Crib Service, Christmas Eve Communion and Christmas Day service will go to Water Aid, as agreed at the last APCM and suggested by Mr Paul Humphries.

Quotes received for lighting work for the Cross and The Madonna and Child. Funds only permit one to be carried out and the PCC agreed that the Madonna should take priority. 

Publication of the Parish News is being reviewed to ensure magazines are available at the beginning of the month. It is available to read on the parish website and will continue in hard copy format. Thanks go to Belinda Searle-Barnes who has begun taking monthly Home Communion. If anyone knows of someone who would like to receive this please notify Margaret Marshall at the office.

Thanks also to Jan Hoy for continuing to organise social events, the next being Tinsel and Turkey in the Abbey Church hall on 21st November. Please again contact the office if you know of someone who may need transport.

Possible trip to Chartres Cathedral in May 2015, more details to follow.
