Second Sunday before Lent

Jesus’s injunction is to place our trust wholeheartedly in life in all its fullness, rather than in the pomp and pageantry of Solomon. But we find it very inconvenient to walk this path, for along the way we find over and over again that we fall flat on our faces. Yet this falling isn’t an obstacle. It humbles us and opens our heart. We’d all look ridiculous in the emperor’s new clothes but, thank God, that’s how God sees us in all our glorious humanity.

Fourth Sunday Before Lent

Jesus’s emphasis on the law is about doing good and how he has come to fulfil the law, not in the sense of ending it but interpreting it. ‘You have heard…..but I say….’ The salt of the earth are those who mourn, who are meek, who thirst after what is right. The light of the world are those who are merciful, the pure in heart, the makers of peace.

Flooding Problems

High tides and bad weather has resulted in some bad flooding in the road near the entrance to the church in Beaulieu.

We will be running the services as usual but please don't take any risks!

Closure of the Abbey Church

As from Thursday 13th February there will be no access to the church for any members of the congregation. The door will be locked and the key removed from the fob. If the workmen are there, please do not ask to be allowed in as this will only slow up the work.

If you need access for any special reason, please contact Tony Norris 01590 611317 or Sally Brearley 01590 612287.

Of course, services will continue as usual in the Church Hall
