The Crossings Drop –in ….. an update
The Waterside Churches Together has now established the Drop-In.
It is open on two half days a week (Wednesday and Saturday mornings) and is based in the Jordan Room in St John’s Church, Hythe.
It is hoped that those who are homeless, lonely, or otherwise marginalised, in the Waterside and nearby areas; can find a warm safe place to come; to talk and be listened to, to receive help applying for benefits, to have access to free wi-fi, to warm food and drink.
The Drop-in is staffed by a full time organiser, Sarah and by other volunteers.
Sarah would love to meet you and explain what the Crossings does in more detail.
How can you help ?
We do need volunteers to help staff the Drop-In. A commitment of just two hours a month would be most welcome…. Especially men !
We would also welcome donations to the charity (www.thecrossings.org.uk) will explain how this can be done.
And of course we need your prayers as we seek to bring something of God's love into the margins and shadows of our busy world.
