In Need of Repair

Exbury’s Parish Church St Katharine’s, like many other churches across this land, is in need of repair.

However, this wonderful old church has been placed on the English Heritage ‘At Risk Register’ such is the need for it’s extensive refurbishment.

St Katharine’s is not only a current place of worship but somewhere to visit and experience an oasis of peace and tranquillity away from the hectic rush and bustle of everyday life. Anyone is welcome to visit and sit quietly in the church itself or in its grounds where all that can be heard is birdsong or the hum of bees amongst the many wild flowers growing there.

The Church has served the village and surrounding area as a source of celebration for baptism, marriage and worship as well as comfort in times of distress for many years. With the very real threat to this wonderful old building in the heart of Exbury there is an urgent need to preserve the village’s heritage in order to hand it on to future generations.

In response to this crisis an appeal is being launched with events to be held over the coming year and beyond, with which to help raise sufficient funds to meet the many repairs required.

Do you belong to or lead a group and are looking for somewhere to meet?  St Katharine’s Church in Exbury can provide that space. For further information and details ring 023 80 897528.
